Benchmark : The Fund adheres to the benchmark of the Target Fund for performance comparison. The benchmark of the Target Fund is 50% MSCI China Net + 50% Markit iBoxx Asia Local Bond Index China Offshore for comparison purpose. The benchmark is translated into share class currency.

General Information

The Fund aims to provide income and moderate capital growth through investments in one collective investment scheme, which invests primarily in a diversified portfolio of securities related to China. The recommended investment time frame for this Fund is five (5) years or more.

The fund is suitable for investors who:

  • are a Sophisticated Investor;
  • have a long-term investment horizon;
  • want exposure to securities related to China and is willing to accept moderate volatility associated with investments in a target fund
  • investing in securities related to China which actively adjusts its investment exposures, 
  • seek regular income.


Fund Details

Distribution Policy Given its investment objective, the Fund is expected to pay quarterly distribution, depending on the availability of realised income and/or realised gains and at Fund Manager's discretion.
Investment Time Horizon Recommended at least five (5) years.
Initial Investment USD5,000 or such other amount as the Manager may from time to time decide. 
Additional Investment USD1,000 or such other amount as the Manager may from time to time decide. 
Cooling off period

You have six (6) Business Days after your initial investment (i.e. the date the application is received by Principal Asset Management) to reconsider its appropriateness for your needs. Within this period, you may withdraw your investment at the NAV per unit on the day the units were first purchased and have the Application Fee (if any) repaid. Please note that the cooling-off right is only given to an investor who is investing with Principal Asset Management or any Approved Distributor for the first time. However, corporations/institutions, Principal Asset Management's staff and person(s) registered to deal in unit trust of Principal Asset Management or any Approved Distributor are not entitled to the cooling-off right. 

However, investors who invest via the EPF Members Investment Scheme (where available) are subject to EPF's terms and conditions.

Redemption/Withdrawal 1,000 units or such other amount as the Manager may from time to time decide.
Minimum Balance 5,000 units or such other amount as the Manager may from time to time decide.

Fund Fees

Application Fees Institutional Unit Trust Advisers (IUTAs): Up to 5.50% of the NAV per unit 

Principal Unit Trust Scheme Consultant: Up to 6.50% of the NAV per unit
Annual Fees Management Fee: Up to 1.80% per annum of the NAV of the Class.

Trustee Fee: Up to 0.04%* per annum of the NAV of the Fund 

*Including local custodian fees and charges but excluding foreign sub-custodian fees and charges
Switching Fees

Since switching is treated as a withdrawal from one class or fund and an investment into another class or fund, you will be charged a Switching Fee equal to the difference (if any) between the Application Fees of the Class and Application Fees of the other class or fund. Switching Fee will not be charged if the class or fund to be switched into has a lower Application Fee. 

We may impose USD35 (or equivalent) administrative fee for every switch made out of any of the CIMB-Principal Funds. You may negotiate to lower the Switching Fee and/or administrative fee. We also have the discretion to waive the Switching Fee and/or administrative fees.
